Happy Cinquo

If you're looking for a great radio station with a fresh playlist, stream Jack FM. Kid you not, in the last hour they've played Don Mclean, Thompsin Twins, Billy Squier, The Time, REM, and Georgia Satellite. No rhyme or reason to their eclectic mix, except that all the songs are brilliant.

That sounds pretty dernded good (although still not as good as what was once my all-time favorite radio station out of Chicago: WLS-AM, where I long long ago heard AC/DC followed by the Carpenters followed by Throbbing Gristle (!) -- too bad talk radio came along & wiped all their DJ's out of jobs...)

I have them on my radio here in Indy. I love it! Not a lot of talk or commercials, either.

iTunes has an 80's station that is good for friday night writing.

Hey Liz,

Have you tried Pandora?

It's a high quality music stream that uses an interesting algorithm to pick out music based on your tastes. It has a slight learning curve, but I've been impressed with how quickly it moves along. You can set up multiple stations, depending on your mood. It's like a Jacked-up Jack...

and it's totally free! :)

That is my defacto radio station for family parties/picnics.

Oh, BTW -- I saw MI: 3 on opening night. I love how the spin is that the movie was disappointing in that it only pulled $48M in the weekend that's three weekends BEFORE Memorial Day.

Whatever. I actually enjoyed it a LOT. There were scenes actually resembling character development, and more team dynamics and interplay than X-Men 1 and 2.

Keri Russell looks great using weaponry. Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laurence Fishburne flat-out OWN the screen. And Jonahan Rhys Meyers and Maggie Q are freaking COOL.

And Mr. Cruise was nowhere nearly as annoying as he can be. Of course, he got the stuffing beaten out of him a few times...

AI, sounds ccol.

Lynda, right on!

BC, I didn't know itunes had radio stations too! Going to have to check that out!

Brian, I will definitely try Pandora. I'm so sick of conventional radio stations! Thanks!

MIM, of course it is, because we're twinsies! Ugh, I want to see MIM for all the other actors, but I just can't give cruise/scientology my money.

you will have to pry my KCRW.org from my cold dead mouse pad...that or KEXP.org. that you'll have to pry from my, er, screen.

It frightens me how many of his movies I actually HAVE.

When you get back from MI:3, count up how many random prior Cruise references are included. For example, during the lip-reading at the party...
