Iron Man

I'm pretty sure I actually came.

You can ask all the Arclight men around me who were thrilled with my squealing.

Yes, I was the grinning ninny wandering around Sunset afterwards in the throng of mensweat with a dazed look in my eyes.

Well done, Marvel Studios. Smoke a cig on me.

I saw the 7:30 show at the Narclight tonight and also thought it was amazing. Tightly constructed, great characters, charming performances - just wonderful. And now I know why the seat was moist.

You are the best PR for Iron Man! Now I want to see the movie ;)

Isn't that the movie with Robert Downey, Jr?

Seeing if I can still post on a blog anymore.

OK, here are my new rankings of Comic Book Movies, after enjoying Iron Man with our lovely hostess this past weekend:

THE PANTHEON.
Superman (1979) -- EPIC.

Spider-Man 2 -- THRILLING.

Batman Begins -- COMPELLING.

IRON MAN -- AWESOME.

WORTHY CONTENDERS.
Superman II -- Still one of the best comic-book fights ever, despite plot holes.

Spider-Man -- A great origin movie, and great character work all-around.

X-Men 2 -- Should have hinted at a great triumph to come.

Batman (1989) -- Great sights, weak script.

GREAT MOMENTS, BUT INCOMPLETE.
Spider-Man 3 -- Great fight scenes, overloaded script.

Superman Returns -- Great effects, almost NO fights.

Batman Returns -- Great visuals, thin story.

X-Men -- All-powerful death-ray aimed AT the contrived black-tie party scene.

SOME GOOD, BUT LOTS OF FLAWS.
X-Men 3 -- Mile-wide, inch-thick.

Daredevil (Director's Cut) -- Great premise, mediocre director.

Elektra -- Underrated, Garner tries hard.

Hulk -- Shrek destroys Berkeley, and a nation yawns.

Batman Forever -- TDK will bury this sucker under 8 feet of concrete.

Superman 3 -- Clark v. Superman and Smallville good, not much else.

FLAMING HOUSES MADE OF EXCREMENT AND VINEGAR-SOAKED SKUNK CARCASSES.

Superman 4 -- Duh.

Catwoman -- Ugh.

Batman and Robin -- Groan.

Just saw the movie! It was great! Loved the holograms! One of my favorite scenes was the videophone on a cell phone! Does it really exist? The great thing about movies is that anything can happen with special effects.

Another favorite was when Robert Downey put his arm through the hologram and it became real!
