Researching Tats

Definitely sending my story into Inked. In the meantime, doing recon.

"If there is no great glorious end to all this, if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do." - Christopher Reeve

"So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then improbable, and then when we summon the will they soon become inevitable" - Christopher Reeve

Like any of these for me?

I'm a fan of the Kingdom Come emblem.

I prefer the classic one as opposed to the strictly-movie version or the Kingdom Come version.

That being said, may I suggest either the classic or movie version with a background of either the upward-shooting line from the movie logo, or a green crystal a la the first 2 movies? Ya know, so there's more of a tie to the movie and not just the same-old "S" symbol that pro athletes and others use.

How big do you plan on making it, and where?

I don't know the insider jargon but I like the one with a bit of red under the pic of the all black shoulder one. Make sense? It's got depth and red is good on you. Argh, matey!

Yes, see I DEFINITELY don't want to look like a Shaq fan.

Mark, any idea where I can find a Supes 2 with crystals? It's funny you mention that, because given the memorial memory of it I had a half-baked idea about including a bit of the Fortress of Solitude.

Anon, I'm hoping to cover a 1 inch Kanji on my right ankle (thus the need for black in the shield), and given the placement I probably have room to go as big as 3 inches tall. If the Tattoo shop says uh-uh, then I'll need to ask y'all where the heck to put it.

Avast Heidi, no worries on the jargon! You've wandered into geek waters, unchartered by beautiful models like yourself...thanks for staying. Picture 1 is from the first Christopher Reeves movie, four is from the most admired graphic novel of Supes: Kingdom Come, by Mark Waid. An amazing read, if you want to borrow.

The NEWEST shield is at the top right of this page, designed for the new movie by Bryan Singer.

And unfortunately, the classic Golden-Age tattoo is a huge cliche, worn by star athletes and others world-wide. Plus, I love yellow and red in tattoos, but in gradients...not solid like a damn Andy Warhol painting.

I'm really trying to get something unique. Maybe that's not even possible with this tattoo and I should give up? I don't want to have something EVERYONE else has, like the Kanji debacle of 1993...

Oops, meant to add this link: Heidi, here's Kingdom Come

That's my girl! Well... not mine, but you get... oh, never mind.

"Mark, any idea where I can find a Supes 2 with crystals?"

OK, that oddly reminds me of old Folgers' instant coffee commercials, but I digress.

Don't know offhand, but I'll poke around. I'm thinking a fat green crystal with the "S" over it may be cool.

Just my 2 cents.

Strange thing to find myself knowing, but this quote,

"If there is no great glorious end to all this, if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do"

...is from an episode of Angel. No idea how it's come to be attributed to Christopher Reeve.

Hysterical. Last time I trust the Supes board...
