Heads up!

If you saw The Police on tour last year, odds are good you were forced to buy a Police membership for $100...and agreed to an "evergreen" contract that automatically renews that $100 membership on the same credit card used to purchase the tickets UNLESS you go before it's too late and cancel your membership at thepolice.com

I wish I could get my money back for the ticket, and it was a freebie.

Oh my god, I HATED that concert...and it was on my birthday!!!

What the hell!!!??? The sound was terrible, we were totally mislead about our seats and paid $300 to have crappy ones, AND they looked like they hated each other, never talked to the audience, and went trhought the motions like Paris Hilton having sex....

GRRRRrrrrrrr....

and the whole Sting jazz-singing thing f'ing up the Police songs. Kind of a bummer all around.

Ugh - I hate the whole corporate "fanclub" cash-in BS, boring templated website, forums that require you to pay for access, criminally overpriced seats, botched pre-sales, lame fanclub "perks" like a cheap keychain, having the balls to "renew" your "membership" out of "courtesy", etc., et bloody cetera. Sting, Police, Genesis, U2...they all cashed in on their 40+ something fanbase by bleeding them dry with the same approach (because you know they needed the money), and all lost me as a once longtime fan and tarnished whatever artistic credibility they might have had left in the process.

I was a huge Police fan and own many more recordings than their official albums, but there was no way I was going to shell out that kind of cash for their sellout (ahem) tour. I downloaded a recent concert that they did in Rio de Janeiro just to see what I'd missed. I couldn't finish watching it - they were just going through the motions. They should have left it alone...but I guess integrity has a price.

Yeah, I'm bitter. ;)
