More evidence I'm a douchebag

The problem with me being the one who fulfills THE COMMUNE DVD orders is that though I enjoy putting together the packages and writing a personal note, I DREAD going to the post office. I don't know why. It's not like a postman killed my dog or anything. But there is a very strong aversion there that is NOT working well for me, or my customers who are personal friends. Because the more I value your friendship, the more I think you might be okay if I put off sending your DVD just one more day.

Yet another case of needing an assistant, clone, or zombie minion.

Don't worry about it. We understand. There *is* something strange about Post Offices. They make me want to go postal and stamp on someone's package...

The good thing about admitting my guilty issue is you just caused me to realize a solution...I need to get that home kit where I can print out postage myself and arrange a pickup!

Oila!!! Thank you!!!

what about one of those post office type places that will send things for you but is also cuter and has boxes similar to p.o. boxes but not?

there's a place near my house with some clever name like "send it" or something.

It's a really good idea, except the closest one to me never has parking and the second-closest one makes me want to shove the cashier out of the way so I can ring it up myself.

Perhaps I need to do a more extensive search of my neighborhood...I haven't tired south or east yet!

Oh god, and you're one of the friends awaiting a DVD...

Brea I'm a douche! Sorry!!!

I like my post office. The guy behind the counter looks like Santa Claus! It totally wasn't creepy a bit when he asked me to sit on his lap.

I can relate. I have a severe aversion to the post office, and will go to great lengths to put off making a trip. I used to send comp copies of my comics to my collaborators (before I delegated that to the folks at Image) and those poor guys always, ALWAYS got their books late because of my irrational hatred of the post office.

Yup, just sign up at USPS.com - I just have them pick up at my house.

Post Office = purgatory

I go through the same things with the Jucifer DVD I created (juciferdvd.com). I rented a postage meter for a few months, but that ended up being more costly and less time-saving than I had hoped. Nowadays, since I know exactly how much each package weighs -- they're all the same, in my case -- I just buy dollar stamps by the boatload and I lose five cents on every order. (Postage for these things is $1.95, but I use two $1 stamps). But I avoid the post office, which is well worth five cents to me.
