Today via Christina W. Thought it was lovely and apropos.
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway. - Mother Teresa

I had that quote on my desk at work for the longest time...might be my favorite ever.
I have a small book of some passages writen by Mother T. During Lent, I read a few pages of that little book -- barely eighty (80) 4" x 6" pages in all -- while reading, at my parish's encouragement, the recently bestselling book 'A Purpose Driven Life" written by a rather prospeprous evangelical minister from So Cal.
Mother Theresa's book was, for me, far more profound and poignant in its simplicity and humility and wisdom.
Enough from my soapbox. Good to have you back, kid sis, but there wasn't any hurry. We'd have waited as long as you needed. :}

Thanks for reposting it! I really loved it. I have come across it a few times and it hits just as deeply every time I read it.
I also love that quote. But I had originally found it as a book in the library by a completely different author. I just looked up the title again. Check it out:
