I'm starting a girl band.

  1. No, duh. It's for Pistoleras. Gotta warm up that crowd.

  2. Olvera street, though I can't recall the prices. Maybe a swap meet. Still, average prices run about 15-20 a pop.

  3. Damn. Expensive. I might check Pleasure Chest too, but I figured that would run more like $50.

Are you coming Wednesday? Could win a Mexican Wrestling Mask!

  4. Can't make Wednesday, sorry. Son's Gymboree class (i.e. organized p.e.) starts that night.

For a minute, I thought this was going to be a covert chick-rock thing.

  5. Mexican Lucha Libre masks!

    I'm there. ;D

You know the gangsters in my script SKULL are all wearing three piece suits and wrestling hoods - EL DIABLO, EL TIGRE, SHADOW, ANACONDA and EL TORO. to be followed by EL GATO NEGRO, EL LOBO, and KALI.

    Everything goes better with masks.

  6. and don't forget:

for the scintillating sounds of steel guitar and leather hoods...

  7. I want to try and make it but my only excuse is that it's my birthday and may end up doing some celebrating. Although, I have no set plans as of yet, so a night with some pistoleras just might be in order.

  8. MIM, so send CC and her gals!

BC, no doubt. I have to check out your link on my laptop; no speakers here.

AK, freaking sweet. You were born on Pistoleras Day!

  9. Dude. Don't spell straightjacket wrong. Just went to a nasty fetish site just as my realtor walked by the computer. He'll never believe it wasn't me cruising.

  10. if you do decide to start a girl band, let me know. i could use a social extracurricular activity that gets me away from this computer. i'm not a great singer but i can play the guitar and the bass (kind of). (though my real passion is drums...) i was in a riot grrl band in college.

  11. Kristen, rock on. Beats burning calories by walking. I'm gonna be Gwen Stafani skinny again ;)

I can play keyboard and sing back-up! And I DEFINITELY know how to wear a cape and crown.

Where's Miss Christina to weigh in? And who out there is a drummer?

  12. Hmmm...Maybe a day trip to Tijuana? Don't take a cab. They will just rip you off.

    Or a local thrift shop?

Both are probably unlikely, but just thought I would throw in my 2 cents and try to help.

If I lived close by and you wanted a really, really, really bad singer, I would be happy to volunteer to help you. But, alas....

  14. Leftover props from the awesome-looking upcoming Jack Black film Nacho Libre?

I hope to be there tomorrow, btw!

  15. BC, Okay, already went to Pleasure Chest to get a bullwhip as a giveaway. It'll be fun to see people fight over that one. Will try to get over to Hollywood Blvd. tomorrow.

Lynda, singing very badly in a voice loud enough to be heard states away is a requirement. You're in!

FJ, oh, believe you me, I'm watching Libre closely. Was so disappointed at first. But now I think it might just help us. Hope to see you, btw!

  16. Kristen, how did I see that part where you said you play guitar and a little bass, but totally miss that YOU LOVE DRUMS?

    Duh.
