Favorite TV Dialogue - June Edition

The 4400 Episode "Weight of the World" by Scott Peters

JORDAN - The fact is, celebrities have deep pockets and deeper insecurities. We can use both to our advantage.

SEAN - You can be a manipulative prick. You know that?

JORDAN - Yeah, well it helps to use your entire skillset when you're trying to change the world.

During interview for Battlestar Galactica: DVD Extras

KATEE SACKHOFF - I'm Starbuck. Deal with it.

In a Starbucks, something close to this conversation took place between 1978 Starbuck Dirk Benedict and 2003-present Starbuck Katee Sackhoff.

DIRK (benevolant) - I'm okay with a female Starbuck.
KATEE - There's a female Boomer, too.

Dirk lapses into stunned silence, during which Katee cackles.

All hail Ron Moore, ruler of our imaginary universes! AND he wrote ST:TNG's "Tapestry" episode. Now there's a guy I'd go on a date with. Or write for. Whichever.

Mary McDonnell as President, Boomer a woman AND a Cylon, and Starbuck played by a woman badder than John Wayne? Eff yeah, can I please go live there?

I love the new BSG.

The sci-fi fan in me loves that I don't have to wander in the desert now that Star Trek and Star Wars are dead.

The creative type in me loves watching Moore get to fire on all cyliders without the Trekian restrictions.

And if that wasn't enough, the man in me will watch anything that has 100 naked Boomers emerge from the shadows. Now that's a sci-fi Universe I want to believe in.

Wow. This is a world I do not understand. It's interesting to read about it, though. :)

Hey NP (and anyone else),

Have you seen that show they're pushing so hard on Comedy Central, "Stella"? What do you think about it?

Just wondering.

Otis, me too! I mean, about having sci-fi to look forward to, not the Boomer naked thing. Though, I was listening to some radio deejays this morning convinced that 99.75% of women are bisexual. That was interesting to wake up to.

Modigli, BSG is great!!!! Very feminist/humanist. The miniseries is three hours long and available on Netflix. I highly recommend. Mom loved it; said it's her new La Femme Nikita.

Hey NN, never heard of Stella. What is it?

WOB, cool. I'll try to borrow me some Hornby. And thanks. Wouldn't you know, Nurse Sis and I tore into some carrot cake today while being stressed at the doctor's office, waiting waiting waiting. It's definitely a self-medication trick.

Carbs = Me not going postal on some poor receptionist/intern.

The weight thing is just...well, I'm glad I'm still attractive to the opposite sex. But man it sucks when you don't feel good about yourself, and you know you only have two pairs of pants left that fit. Okay, make that one pair of pants. But you're right, something has to go in crisis mode, and it's usually going to be the things you do for yourself. But Christ, how much longer can this family survive in crisis mode?

Pant are overrated.

I say, follow the lead of Cylon Boomer. Throw off the denim shackles of your human oppressors!
